Looking to the future

What a wonderful day! There's nothing like yogurt, cereal, and toast to start off a morning! That has got  to be one of my favorite breakfasts of all time. My first favorite, I would have to say, is...Spam, eggs, and rice! Of course it is right?! I'm from Hawaii, and that's even served at McDonalds for breakfast. Local breakfast cuz!
Anyways, today there was something quite amazing that I got to experience. So, I've been home from the mission for a little over 2 years. I served a mission for the Lord in the greatest state in the whole world: North Carolina! I love that place so much! Here's a "shout-out" to all my peeps in the great NC! So, going to back to what I was saying, I got to experience something quite amazing today: I got to help "teach" a lesson with my little sister! She's going on a mission to Roseville, California and the surrounding area. She leaves pretty soon! February 6 is the scheduled date that she is to report to the MTC (Missionary Training Center). It's hard to believe that she is going on a mission. It's amazing to see how fast everyone around us, including ourselves, grow up right?! Well, it happens; such is life!
So, the missionaries came over to our house and helped Mitsue know how to teach the lessons. It was great! It was really nice to have the missionaries in our home. The spirit they bring is very comforting. To have a home where we can always feel the spirit, as well as protection from the world, is nice. Then, to have a home where missionaries will come and teach is even better! It was nice to be able to teach again, even if it was in a mock setting. There is a spirit that comes when we teach the gospel to others that cannot be matched anywhere but within the gospel itself. I am very grateful to have been given that opportunity to teach with my sis!
Before the missionaries even came, I was able to spend a couple hours or so with her, studying the "How to Begin Teaching" section of Preach My Gospel. It's kind of stirred a new desire in me to really start including Preach My Gospel in my daily studies.

  1. That is soooo awesome!!! I would just like to add my two cents and say that I am extremely proud of my sister!!! She is such an example to me and I am so excited for her to serve a mission! She is going to make such an amazing missionary! I can't wait to read her letters and hear about her experiences!!! She is my best friend and although I am going to miss her terribly, I know she is doing the Lord's work and is going to be where He needs her. I am so proud to have Kenny and Mitsue as my older siblings. I couldn't ask for anyone better.

  2. Here's a shout-out back from NC! My uncle went on vacation, like 20 years ago, to Hawaii and never came back! haha He was visiting once and told us about this massive breakfast plate served somewhere that had everything under the sun piled together (was it beef patties, gravy, rice, fried eggs, etc.? I don't even remember). I just remember thinking, "That might sound amazing!" haha
